COURSE CLARIARTE 2010

After the huge success of 2009’s edition of the ClariArte in Hartberg we look forward to the continuation of this unique event.
Benny Goodman’s centenary - one of the greatest clarinet players of all times - was the focus of the ClariArte in 2009. The name of the festival has become a brand name in the past two years and is a synonym for a high-calibre music festival centred around the clarinet.

In 2010 the competition ClariArts will be a thrilling new feature of the festival. The First Competition for Chamber Music Ensembles is open for clarinet quartets, clarinet quintets and basset horn trios. The first prize will be endowed with Euro 2000.-

This year the motto of the opening concert with the vienna clarinet connection and the dance ensemble “vienna waltz project” will be “Square Dance” (Choreography by Christian Tichy).
The second concert with Karen Asatrian & Armenian Spirit and the vienna clarinet connection will invite the audience to visit new musical worlds between orient and occident, spiced with fine clarinet sounds.

Beside the concerts the members of the vienna clarinet connection will lead master classes with about 40 clarinet players.

The final concert will be performed by the participating soloists and ensembles.
In addition to the concerts there will be a series of events which will wrap the whole town in a blanket of sound throughout the 10 days of the festival. Theses events are intended to make the festival’s presence felt for the whole population.

The ClariArte has become a real focal point of attention for the whole instrument family in Austria - from the clarinet over the basset horn to the bass clarinet.

We are very excited about the ClariArte 2010! May it be as successful as in the last two years!
